In the sleek black sedan, William sat with his eyes closed, feigning sleep. The car reeked of expensive bourbon and barely contained rage. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

The driver shifted nervously in his seat. "Mr. Brown, should we continue waiting for Ms. Miller?"

William's eyes snapped open, arctic cold. "She's not coming."

"Should I go check on her, sir?"

"Just drive," William ordered, his voice cutting like steel.

The driver was about to comply when movement caught his eye. "Mr. Brown – Ms. Miller's here!"

William's hawk-like gaze zeroed in on the window.

Sophia approached with an eerily composed expression, as if the last hour hadn't happened. She slid into the car with practiced grace.

"Mr. Brown," she murmured.

William's piercing stare dissected her every movement as she settled in, but he made no move to stop her.

"That was quick," he said, voice dripping with ice.

A hollow smile played across Sophia's lips, her eyes hard as diamonds. "What's wrong, Mr. Brown? Disappointed I didn't spend the whole night with Louis? Were you hoping I wouldn't come back?"

William's scrutiny faltered for a moment before he let out a harsh laugh. Whether it was approval or anger remained a mystery.

"Well played," he said.

Her smile vanished. "I learned from the best."

William studied her more intently. Despite what must have happened upstairs, she was perfectly controlled, almost mechanical – nothing like the vibrant woman she'd once been.

A passing streetlight caught the purple shadow forming on her neck.

William's smirk vanished. "Pull over," he commanded.

The driver wordlessly complied and stepped out.

Rage surged through Sophia's veins. With the driver gone, she lunged for the door handle, but strong arms yanked her back before she could escape. William's chin pressed against her shoulder, his breath hot on her neck.

Sophia's heart hammered. "Mr. Brown, stop it – we're in public!"

A dark chuckle rumbled in his chest as his fingers traced the bruise on her neck. "So you'll go to a private room with Louis, but you won't let me touch you in the car?"

His voice was dangerously soft as he expertly unzipped her dress, one arm holding her firmly in place.

Terror gripped Sophia – Louis's attempted assault was still fresh in her mind. She bit her lip hard to stifle a scream.

'You bastard.'

His lips brushed her ear, eyes fixed on her face. "Keep quiet. The driver's right outside," he whispered against her skin. Sophia shook with fury, but her trapped arms left her helpless.

"Let go of me!" Her voice quivered.

William maintained his grip, one hand restraining her while the other wandered. His kisses traced her neck as his breathing grew ragged.

"You fight me so hard, yet you barely struggled with Louis."

He felt her stiffen at that, and his grip loosened slightly as he pressed his lips to her throat.

"Mr. Brown," Sophia's voice was suddenly steady, clinical. "Louis had me. Shouldn't that disgust you?"

William went rigid.

"I was alone with him for thirty minutes," she continued, voice empty and cold. "That's more than enough time for anything to happen."
