Chapter 1

Violet's POV

“Fix your face, you shouldn't be slouching.” Mom grumbled as the car sped fast on the highway.

“Urgh” I rolled my eyes.

This is the fourth alpha she's getting married to, only Daphne, my mom, would get married to three alphas and not get bothered about it.

Three of those alphas have died, leaving her with nothing but massive wealth to continue her luxurious lifestyle.

FYI, none of them was my father Daphne doesn't like to talk about him, and I have since stopped asking.

It makes things easier for both of us.

Now, we were heading to mate number four, I wonder what this one would be like.

Although I had heard a lot about him already, it was my first time meeting him in person. Since he was going to be my stepdad starting today.

Alpha Kanan of the Crimson claw pack, he is powerful and said to be extremely rich, richer than the three previous mates Daphne had combined.

“Ohhhhh my.” She exclaimed, staring out the window as the gate of the mansion opened by itself.

“Don't you just love when wealth surrounds you?”  She asked without looking at me.

The car pulled up in front of the house, not bothering to wait for me, Daphne hurried in excitedly to see her new mate.

Our luggage was still inside the car. I helped the butler bring them out.

As the trunk of the car closed, something hit my head with a loud thunk.

“Owww,” I shouted, rubbing my forehead.

I felt a slight swell on it.

I looked in the direction from which the object came flying, and a young man of about my age stepped out through the overgrown bush wearing loose dungarees.

His brown hair was tousled, and his abs were ripped, he held onto a hose for watering flowers.

He was tall too, with really dreamy brown doe eyes.

From where I stood, his hotness was screaming at me.

“Can you pass me the ball?” He waved at me.

I looked at the ball which was right in front of my feet.

So this was what thunked my head.

I was suddenly furious towards his lack of remorse for hitting me with it.

He was just a mere gardener after all. The help around here should teach you some manners.

I picked the ball up with my left hand, then sank my right claw into it.

The ball made a hissing sound as it deflated, and there was an evil smirk on my face.

“Hey, what was that for?” The gardener charged at me dragging the hose along.

“You should learn to apologize next time.” I spat.

“You are quite rude for a gardener.”

Now that he was up close I could smell the scent of wild flowers on him.

His skin was well tanned and he was so freaking hot I could barely concentrate on the words I was saying.

He didn't say anything to me, Instead, he raised the hose and squeezed its mouth, letting the water spray all over me.

I screamed as the cold water drenched me from head to foot.

I tried to grab his dungaree, he stepped back, I missed my step, and fell into the puddle of water that surrounded me.

Smoke was coming out of my head and ears.

“I'll make you pay for this,” I yelled.

With an annoying yet seductive smile, he turned away, giving me a view of his width from behind.

“I'd like to see you try.” 

Such a chill aura from his voice, it raised goosebumps on my damp skin.

I wanted to go after him so bad, but that would mean fighting on my first day.

I was dripping from head to toe, and the butler didn't even interfere or try to stop the gardener.

That's it, I was done helping him, he can bring them all in for all I care.

Where was Daphne when I needed her?

I stormed in the direction she took.

There she was already seated and being attended to by some servants.

Gosh I hate her

“Daphne, ” I yelled.

She didn't even spare me a glance.

“There you are darling, I've been waiting for you.”

I stood in front of her for a while until she finally noticed me.

“What in the world happened to you, Kanan mustn't see you like this.”

Of course, she was more interested in what her new husband would think than in her daughter.

“The gardener did this to me, I hate it here already I want to go back.”

“Hush your mouth, Violet, you mustn't say such ever again. Now go change quickly, before Kanan arrives.”

How the hell does she expect me to change, I don't even know a damn place, we just arrived for fuvks sakes..

Fine, since she was too concerned about being perfect for her new mate, I'd give her perfection.

“There you are,” Kanan announced his presence proudly.

Alpha Kanan strode down the flight of stairs majestically.

He was much younger than I expected, he looked to be only a few years older than me, but it's expected of the Alpha of the Crimson claw pack, they are said to age more slowly than any other pack.

He was good-looking too, and exuded a powerful aura. Daphne had always had her fair share of incredibly handsome men, so I'm not surprised she was able to nail Kanan.

“There she is, my gorgeous Daphne,” Kanan called as his feet touched the last staircase.

His arms were open wide as Daphne rushed to hug him like a high schooler beckoned by her longtime crush.

They were lost in kissing each other, and they probably forgot that they weren't in a private room.

“Ahem.” I coughed to get their attention

Daphne scowled at me, more at my embarrassing appearance.

She touched Kanan lightly on the chest.

“This is my daughter Violet, your new daughter. Ignore her horrible looks.” She added.

I nearly puked from hearing her say those words, the same words she told her previous mates.

“I hope this one lives longer than a year,” I mumbled.

“What was that?” Daphne scowled at me.

“Nothing.” I forced a smile.

Kanan looked friendly enough, with his warm smile, but I wasn't looking forward to being friends, I can't wait to turn nineteen and be free from Daphne.

“What happened to your clothes?” Kanan pointed to me.

“Your stupid gardener is what happened, he sprayed cold water over me after throwing me with a ball.”

Kanan’s brow furrowed.

“That doesn't sound like Ezekiel, but I apologize on his behalf, You should go change so you don't get a cold.”

So his name is Ezekiel, that jerk.

“Thank you,” I muttered.

A maid was already waiting to lead me to my new room.

“Hold on.” Daphne stopped me, I wonder what she wants now.

“Tell her the good news love.” She nudged Kanan.

“What good news?” I asked, completely disinterested. All I wanted was to change my clothes in peace.

“Your mom and I decided to enroll you in the three-month academy for elite wolves, as we would be having our honeymoon in the house and would not like to be disturbed.”

I couldn't help but chuckle.

“You can't be serious, enrolled?, Without notifying me first, who even said I'd be interested?”

“Your mother said it was a good plan, and also a way of getting close to your brothers,” Kanan added.

I shook my head.

“Hell no, I'm not going to a strange place just because both of you decided so.”

“It won't be strange darling, besides Aiden will be there to help you.”

“Aiden?” I repeated.

Kanan looked past me.

“Ahh, there he is, Aiden, come meet your new mother and sister.”

I looked back to see who he was referring to.

“What? The gardener is your son?” I asked Kanan shocked by the outcome.

This was so not good for me, I didn't even know Alpha Kanan had any children.

Aiden, who I thought was Ezekiel was wearing a tight frown.

He didn't budge from where he stood observing Daphne and me.

His eyes skimmed my wet body, his frown turning into a wicked smile.

“Sure Dad, I'll make sure to look after my new sister.” His eyes never left mine.

I swallowed.

Shit, the hot gardener just turned out to be my step brother.
